The Manual Exercise

This is a solo training exercise that is described in the Roworth manual and depicted in the Angelo training posters as shown below. The great thing about this exercise is it includes the core cuts and parries, and it is designed in such a way that each parry you make is the correct one for the cut which you just made before it. This means it can be used as a solo drill or combined into a partnered exercise. Note how a lunge is made on every attack, and a slip or shift during every parry.

The commands below are the version from Roworth, which has the same movements as the Angelo illustration, but with some extra information to assist you in using the correct cutting angles.
